IC Meeting, August 17, 2022 – Back from Summer Break
After a short summer break, we met again for our initiative committee meeting in August. First, we had some open issues from our last meetings, and we talked about the LinkedIn pages and the upcoming elections. The upcoming tcworld conference was also a topic: it will not be a purely on-site event as planned; some tracks will also be broadcast or recorded.
New topics were brought up by the IC members: there was the idea of setting up a committee to work on cross-country events. It is an interesting idea to set up pairs of countries and to establish a network of speakers and presentations in order to encourage cross-country interaction and networking. The initiative committee and community management will work on this idea and see how it could be implemented.
A further topic was about the new working group, the European standardization coordinating committee (EU_SCC for short), starting work. They have published a position paper, “Revision of the Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC)”. There will be two webinars covering this topic: The first will be held on Sept. 23, 5–6 p.m. CEST and will revolve around the topic of IEC/IEEE 82079-1 and its revision. A date is still to be set for the second webinar, with a focus on the machinery regulation draft and commenting on the tekom Europe position paper.
The agenda topics for this monthly meeting are usually provided by the participants to ensure that there is time for the main points coming directly from tekom Europe members and representatives. To make sure that your interests are represented, please contact your country organization or send an email to info.tekom-europe@tekom.de.
