Current and Future Expertise in Technical Communication for 4,600 Participants
Future technologies have already changed numerous fields of work in technical communication. The most important developments were captured and packed into exciting lectures and workshops for the conference program. In addition to classic topics, the participants were given insights into relevant areas such as UX and VR. With the Meetups and the iiRDS Café, there were new interactive formats again this year.

Shumen In 2018, tekom Bulgaria is on the road again across Bulgaria heading for the town of Shumen!

Technical Communication Day at the University of Twente in the Netherlands
On the 4th of July, about 70 people came together at the University of Twente in the Netherlands to exchange knowledge about recent developments in practice and research in the area of Technical Communication and to learn about the final results of the TecCOMFrame project.

An Important Milestone in the Revision of the Standard IEC/IEEE 82079-1 Has Been Achieved
The standard IEC 82079-1 has been the most important standard for technical communicators and all those working in the field of technical communication since 2012. Edition 2 of this standard is likely to be released in late spring 2019.

European Academic Colloquium 2018 21st Century Skills for Technical Communication
The sixth European Academic Colloquium (EAC) took place on April 26-27 at the University of Limerick in Ireland. For the third time, the Colloquium was integrated into the Erasmus+ project TecCOMFrame. On the first day of the event, about 50 scholars and practitioners came together to discuss this year’s topic, 21st century skills for technical communication. During several presentation slots, professionals from the industry and academia presented their research projects.

Documenting comprehensibly – professionals’ skill!
More than 50 people gathered at the WIFI Tirol in Innsbruck (Austria) to learn about strategies that help creating comprehensible texts. Three experienced speakers – experts coming from different fields – provided new insights, answered questions and discussed interesting topics the whole day.
