Technical Writing Event Cluj, June 15

On June 15, the technical writer community from Cluj met at the office premises for the first on-site event after Covid. The topics of the presentations were diverse and offered space for discussion. The event was opened by Voichita Ghenghea from tekom Romania. In the first presentation, Mirela told how her path led from the marketing industry to technical communication.
Melania and Sonia presented the tools and technologies of a technical writer in their presentation. They went into detail about different programs and discussed what skills are needed. The analysis of the job advertisements they presented at the end was also interesting. It seems that the importance of the profession of technical writer is not yet widespread in Romania – there is still a lot of work to do but also opportunities for tekom Romania to take.
Radu presented a new approach to documentation, namely to what extent humor can be introduced into technical documentation. All participants were eager to see how these ideas could be further developed and implemented. In the last presentation, Maria talked about how creativity is reflected in the work of the technical writer. She also gave many tips on how to give constructive feedback and what makes a good team leader. 
It was nice to have an on-site event again, and we hope that the community in Romania will follow up and grow even more.
